According to an announcement from the Blastocystis Research Foundation (BRF), the First International Blastocystis Symposium will be held this May 28–29 at Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey.

The event, co-sponsored by Roche, will cover diagnosis and molecular characterization, epidemiology, evolutionary biology and advances in genomics, intestinal ecology, clinical and public health significance including potential relationship to irritable bowel syndrome.
Researchers interested in presenting at this event still have time to submit abstracts, as the deadline has been extended to April 2015.
