This comes 4 days after Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas nurse, Amber Vinson, was declared Ebola free via blood tests.
Ms. Vinson was transported from Dallas to Atlanta on Oct. 15 where she she was admitted to the special biocontainment unit at Emory for treatment of Ebola virus she contracted while treating Liberian Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan earlier this month.
Amber Joy Vinson was the second Texas Health Presbyterian nurse to test positive for Ebola after caring for Mr. Duncan. The first employee, Nina Pham, was released from the National Institutes of Health’s Clinical Center in Bethesda, Md. on Oct. 24.
To date, nine people have been treated for EVD in the United States. Seven patients recovered from their illness, one died and MSF physician Dr. Craig Spencer is currently being treated for the dangerous virus at a New York City hospital.
