An adult pony with no known vaccine history and no recent travel history has contracted the mosquito borne viral disease, Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) in Washington County, Florida.
This is the second EEE case reported in Washington County and the 13th case seen in Florida to date.
Clinical signs of EEE began on July 9 and the horse was euthanized for humane reasons the same day.
