Effective March 1, all of Bay Pines VA Healthcare System’s facilities will only require masks in buildings where health care is administered. This decision was made following a review of current national and local epidemiologic data which reflects a sustained decline in COVID-19 positive cases. Please note that these masking requirements remain dependent on the community transmission levels provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“The wellbeing of our Veterans and staff remains at the forefront of the decisions we make,” said Paul M. Russo, Director/CEO, Bay Pines VA. “The data provided by the CDC indicates a steady decrease in community transmission levels and I’m confident that this change in masking requirements will not adversely impact the health of those we serve.”
Bay Pines VA will ensure signage (included below) that clearly states which mask-wearing requirements apply at that location are posted at our facilities. Additionally, we will continue to provide mask stations at all entrances and clinical areas. Veterans who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 may present to any of our facilities for walk-in availability and do not need an appointment. We continue to offer COVID-19 vaccines and flu shots.
