New Radiation Oncologist Joins Florida Cancer Specialists in Ocala

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) is pleased to announce that Radiation Oncologist Luis Carrascosa, MD has returned to Ocala and has joined the statewide practice. He is practicing radiation oncology in our new state-of-the-art facility in Ocala, Florida (4945 SW 49th Place.)

Dr. Carrascosa earned his medical degree at Universidad Francisco Marroquin School of Medicine in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He pursued his radiation oncology residency training at the University of Louisville, during which he achieved Chief Resident status. Throughout his career, Dr. Carrascosa has held leadership positions, including Chief of Medicine and Chairman of the Cancer Committee at AdventHealth Palm Coast, as well as former President of the Marion County Medical Society. He has also taught residents and radiation therapists, been published in peer-reviewed journals, and lectured both nationally and internationally.

As a board-certified radiation oncologist, Dr. Carrascosa utilizes precisely targeted radiation therapy techniques to treat all cancers, with special interests in breast, head, and neck, lung, prostate, and skin cancers. He provides the most advanced radiation oncology treatments and tailors his treatment plans to the needs of each patient. Dr. Carrascosa is fluent in both English and Spanish.
