The South Korea Department of Health and Human Services reported (computer translated) an additional case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in an 82-year-old man.

The case, the 36th reported in the country, is also the sixth tertiary MERS infection and third fatality.

The Korean Herald reports that as of Thursday, 28 out of 35 confirmed patients had all been infected at the same health care facility.

VOA reports the South Korean government, as part of attempting of getting the outbreak under control, they are also making efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus into North Korea.

South Korea’s Ministry of Unification said Thursday that it will install three thermal scanners in the Kaesong Industrial Complex in North Korea to be used to detect anyone who may be showing signs of illness.

Official North Korean state media (KCNA) only reported the following yesterday–“The south Korean puppet authorities announced that two persons were reported dead as of Tuesday”.
