The Malaysia Ministry of Health recorded 15,902 additional COVID-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 996,393.

184 new deaths were reported, bringing this total to 7902 (Case fatality rate of 0.79%).

Of the 15,902 daily cases reported today where when they were newly diagnosed, a total of 260 cases (1.6 per cent) were from category 5 (critical and in need of respiratory assistance), 129 cases (0.8 per cent) were from category 4 (pneumonia and need oxygen assistance), 127 cases (0.8 per cent) category 3 (pneumonia), 6,901 cases (43.4 per cent) category 2 (mild symptoms) and 8,485 cases (53.4 per cent) category 1 (no symptoms).

The 184 death cases reported today involved 87 cases in Selangor, 17 cases in Kedah, 16 cases in Pahang, 15 cases in Negeri Sembilan, 13 cases in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, 10 cases in Johor, eight (8) cases in Sabah, seven (7) cases in Melaka, six (6) cases in Penang, three (3) cases in Terengganu and two (2) cases in Sarawak.
