The island chain in the Indian Ocean, Maldives, is reporting more dengue fever cases this year than has been seen in a couple of years.

Through this week, health officials in Maldives have reported 4420 cases of dengue fever.

Most cases of the fever were recorded from Shaviyani, Noonu, and Lhaviyani atoll in addition to Male’ and Hulhumale’ City, according to the Health Protection Agency.

In addition to dengue, 1460 cases of chikungunya were reported this year.
