Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) and the plague, plus updated news on Zika virus were the main topics on Sunday’s Outbreak News This Week Radio Show.
In the first half, infectious disease physician and Forbes contributor, Dr. Judy Stone, joined me for an interview on CCHF. Dr. Stone recently covered this topic in a Forbes column entitled, “Should You Worry About Tick Borne Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever In Spain?”
In the second half of the show, following the report from New Mexico where a 67-year-old man from Bernalillo County contracted the plague after getting bit by a wild prairie dog, I replayed an excellent interview from 2013 about plague with New Mexico Public Health veterinarian, Dr. Paul Ettestad.
