The Philippines Department of Health reported an additional 7,772 COVID-19 cases Saturday, bringing the cumulative total to 2,713,509 since the start of the pandemic.

With the additional of 156 fatalities reported today, the country’s total now stands at 40,580.

The National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 announced today the receipt of  720,000 doses of the government-procured Sputnik V vaccine on Saturday from Russia.

To date, this is  the biggest delivery so far by Russia’s Gamaleya Research Institute.

National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 special medical adviser Dr. Ted Herbosa said the new shipment brought the country’s Sputnik V jabs to 1.3 million doses and the country’s total doses received to 91,339,530 doses.

“We do hope that this will help a lot in our vaccination program,” Herbosa said.
