Although more details of the medical breakthrough are to be announced Thursday in Bangkok, the National News Bureau of Thailand reports the development of the first Ebola vaccine by researchers at the Siriraj Hospital at Mahidol University.


The report calls the groundbreaking discovery a specific vaccine that would produce antibodies to cure the patient of the Ebola virus.

A press conference to announce the medical breakthrough is set for October 2, 2014 on the 2nd Floor, Room A201, of the Srisavarinthira Building. The press conference will be presided over by Doctor Udom Kachintorn, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital.
