Fruits de Mer Madeleine Inc. is recalling Madeleine brand Tomalley Spread from the marketplace because it may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. This recall was triggered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) inspection activities.

The affected recalled product comes in 80 g size and has a UPC of  6 87090 30020 5.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Food contaminated with Clostridium botulinum toxin may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, blurred or double vision, dry mouth, respiratory failure and paralysis. In severe cases of illness, people may die.
