TRS Wholesale Company Ltd is recalling its Jeera (Cumin) Powder and Dhania (Coriander) Powder because salmonella has been detected in the products.

The following products are affected by the recall:

 

  • TRS Jeera Powder
    Pack size:  100g
    Batch no: P353340
    ‘Best before’ date:  31 December 2017
  • TRS Dhania Powder
    Pack size:  100g
    Batch no: A481514
    ‘Best before’ end:  End December 2017

The company will be displaying point-of-sale notices in all stores. These notices will tell consumers why the products are being recalled and will tell them what to do if they have bought the products.

No other TRS Wholesale Company Ltd products are known to be affected.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream area and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis and arthritis.
