In Hanoi during the past week, the number of dengue fever cases in Hanoi continued to increase with 1,442 cases, (up 0.5% compared to the previous week). Patients were recorded in 30 districts, towns and cities; in which there are some districts with high number of cases such as: Hoang Mai (187 cases), Phu Xuyen (141 cases), Ha Dong (131 cases), Dong Da (104 cases).
Accumulated from the beginning of 2022 until now, Hanoi has recorded 16,314 cases of dengue fever (an increase of 4.9 times compared to the same period in 2021), of which there have been 18 deaths.
Health experts said that in recent days, Hanoi has welcomed the first cold wave of winter, so people think that mosquitoes will not work when it is cold, so they should ignore the killing of larvae and mosquito prevention. Although the temperature in the North is decreasing, it is not enough to limit the activity of the mosquito that transmits dengue fever.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) said that in the past week, the city recorded 1,169 cases of dengue fever, a decrease of 24.8% compared to the average of 4 weeks ago , the number of inpatients. down by 26.4% and outpatient by 23.1%.
Since the beginning of the year until now, Ho Chi Minh City has recorded 76,239 cases of the disease, an increase of nearly 7 times compared to the same period in 2021. Of which, the number of severe dengue fever is 1,838 cases, the ratio of severe cases to the total number of cases up to a week. 48 is 2.41%, up 3.2% over the same period in 2021.
