According to an announcement from the Blastocystis Research Foundation (BRF), the First International Blastocystis Symposium will be held this May 2829 at Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey.

The event, co-sponsored by Roche, will cover diagnosis and molecular characterization, epidemiology, evolutionary biology and advances in genomics, intestinal ecology, clinical and public health significance including potential relationship to irritable bowel syndrome.

Researchers interested in presenting at this event still have time to submit abstracts, as the deadline has been extended to April 2015.  BRF is able to provide some travel grants for this program – for more information, and an application form, send e-mail to [email protected]  For more information about the Symposium, please refer to the event’s web site
