Hanoi

The Hanoi COVID-19 bulletin on February 8 released by the Department of Health this evening said that in the past 24 hours, the city recorded 2,903 new cases.

Newly detected COVID-19 patients  are distributed in 486 communes, wards and towns in 30 districts and towns.

Some districts recorded many patients during the day such as: Hoang Mai (109); American Chapter (106); Nam Tu Liem (95); Long Bien (91); Dong Anh (89).

Thus, from April 29, 2021 to present, Hanoi has 157,073 cases. There were 16 deaths in Hanoi, bringing the total number of deaths from April 29, 2021 to now to 779 cases.

Mekong Delta

Before more than 1,000 cases were recorded every day, now some provinces have only a few dozen cases. The pace of people’s lives in the Mekong Delta region is gradually returning to a new normal.

Thanks to the good implementation of disease prevention, especially  vaccination, so far, the epidemic in the Mekong Delta has been basically well controlled. In Vinh Long province, in the early days of the year, there were about 1000 cases recorded, now there are only about 35 cases per day.

Vaccination work continues to accelerate progress by the local health sector. Up to now, the first injection in Vinh Long has achieved 99.9%, the second injection is 99.6%, and the booster injection is 26.2%.

Thanh Hoa

Information from  Thanh Hoa Province’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control  said that from 4:00 p.m. on February 7 to 4:00 p.m. on February 8, the province recorded 998  new COVID-19 patients  .

Specifically, 226 patients detected in the community include: Thieu Hoa 11; Hoang Hoa 62; Nga Son 17; Sam Son 22; Yen Dinh 12; Thanh Hoa City 8; Thach Thanh 27; Tho Xuan 1; Ngoc Lac 1; Vinh Loc 7; As Thanh 5; Like Spring 8; Nghi Son town 28 ; Nong Cong 10; Trieu Son 7.

456 patients have been screened at medical facilities and 316 patients are being isolated according to regulations.

From April 27, 2021 to now, Thanh Hoa has recorded 24,956 cumulative COVID-19 patients; 20,923 cured people were discharged from the hospital; 34 patients died.

Nationwide

On February 8, on the National COVID-19 Case Management System, 21,909 new infections were recorded.

Provinces and cities with confirmed cases are as follows: Hanoi (2,903), Nghe An (1,717), Hai Duong (1,245), Thanh Hoa (998), Hoa Binh (944) and Bac Ninh (897).

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 2,380,695 infections, including 2,373,577 cases since April 27, 2021.

The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Vietnam so far is 38,521 cases, accounting for 1.6% of the total number of infections.
