There were reports Friday from Honduras media (computer translated) of a suspected case of Ebola in Honduras, where an American patient has reportedly been isolated in a hospital in Comayagua exhibiting symptoms of Ebola.
The US citizen, who has reportedly traveled to West Africa prior to arriving in Honduras this week, was isolated and placed under the supervision of trained physicians.
A Sputnik report stated Deputy Minister of Health Francis Contreras confirmed this was the first suspected case of Ebola in the Central American country, but reassured the situation is under the control of authorities.
Honduras TV, hondured.tv put out a series of tweets during the past 24 hours ranging in message from “Ebola first suspect in Honduras, is an American is isolated in hospital in Comayagua” (computer translated) to “You should expect official statement from the ministry of health or otherwise PAHO or WHO, no alarm is a suspect no confirmed case” to the latest–“Ministry of Health dismisses any case of Ebola in the country”.
