The top post of the week was the unusual, but not unexpected Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) case reported in South Korea. The 61-year-old male patient had returned from a business trip to Kuwait.

This was the first MERS case seen in South Korea since the 2015 multi-hospital outbreak.
