The youngest Robertson brother and star of the hit series, “Duck Dynasty”, Jep Robertson and his wife Jessica appeared on Fox and Friends Friday morning to talk about his recent health condition that landed him in the hospital.

Robertson said he was “glad to be alive” after he had a seizure while in the remote Louisiana woods Oct. 19.
He explained that he tested “kind of positive” for meningitis and encephalitis, which could be what triggered the seizure.
“So a mosquito can do a lot of damage,” he said.
Not exactly sure what “kind of positive” for meningitis and encephalitis means; however, serious neurologic illness such as encephalitis or meningitis is seen in less than 1% of people who are infected with West Nile virus.
West Nile virus (WNV) is most commonly transmitted to humans by mosquitoes and Louisiana is only one of five states who has seen greater than 100 human WNV cases to date (111 cases, 5 deaths as of Oct. 28, according to the CDC).
Robertson was finally taken off a ventilator four days after being hospitalized.
Maybe more concrete details of Robertson’s illness will be released in the future.
