In a follow-up on the cholera outbreak in Lebanon, the Ministry of Public Health reported 46 new confirmed cases and one additional death, bringing the totals to 89 confirmed cholera cases and three deaths.
Confirmed cases have been reported in the following districts: Akkar (33), Minieh Dannieh (39), Ballbeck (14) and Kesrwan (3).
The health ministry announced that the Minister of Health, Dr. Faras Al-Bayd, participated virtually, in a meeting of the sixty-ninth session of the Regional Committee of the World Health Organization for the Middle East.
At the meeting, Al-Bayd presented the preparations that the Ministry of Health is taking place in cooperation with the ministries and all concerned parties to fight cholera, in order to prepare hospitals, ensure clean and safe water and treat sewage water, and ways to support the Health Organization for Lebanon through training Health workers and insurance of needed drugs and vaccines if requested.
