A recent study revealed that the Borrelia burgdorferi bacterium are able to form biofilms in human infected skin tissues which protects the bacterium from antibiotic treatments. Study lead author and Professor and Department Chair at the Department of Biology and Environmental Science at the University of New Haven, Dr. Eva Sapi joined me Sunday to discuss the research.
This included how they made the discovery and the future implications of the research findings.
