CDC reports 640 sick with Salmonella, 85 hospitalized, 43 states affected.  Salmonella illness onset dates range from June 19 to July 24.  Because it can take 2 to 4 weeks for new cases to be reported to the CDC, the case count Red Onions Salmonella Outbreak is likely to continue to rise.

Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming have been hit particularly hard in the onion Salmonella outbreak.
