It is estimated that as many as 1 in 200 children are affected by PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections), according to the PANDAS Network.

During the first half of the Outbreak News This Week Radio show on Feb. 28, I had the opportunity to talk to Executive Director for the PANDAS Network, JC Konecny. During the interview we learned about PANDAS and PANS, the course of the illness, diagnosis and treatment of this pediatric disease.

Visit the PANDAS Network for more information.

In addition, Infectious Disease Epidemiologist and health and science writer, Steven Smith joined me to talk about his article on Outbreak News TodayThe Challenges We Face at the End of the Antibiotic Age Can Be Overcome by an Emerging New Vaccine Era.
