The Philippines Department of Health (DOH) saw a new record one day high COVID-19 tally Thursday with 22,820 new Covid-19 infections. Health officials also reported 61 deaths today.
Since the start of the pandemic, the Philippines reported 2,161,892 cases and 34,733 deaths. 1,960,487 people have recovered from their illness, while their is currently 166,672 active cases.
The DOH and the Philippines Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also issued some news about the success of the COVID-19 vaccines. The federal agencies report out of 13.8 million fully vaccinated individuals only 0.0017% got COVID-19.
Based on the data gathered by the FDA, individuals who got infected with COVID-19 more than 14 days after their second dose was only 242 or 0.0017% out of 13.8 million individuals inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines.
In addition, concerning adverse reactions from the vaccine, the FDA and DOH say out of the 33.3 million jabs, 0.18% had suspected adverse reactions. Of this number, only 0.006% were reported as a serious adverse reaction.
