The Portugal Direção-Geral da Saúde reported today the Vaccination Report No. 28 indicates that about 80% of the population has at least one dose of vaccine COVID-19 and 72% of Portuguese have complete vaccination.

As of 22 August, 7,399,577 people had completed the respective vaccination schedule and 8,264,586 received at least one dose.

People aged 65 and over are practically all vaccinated. About 99% have the first dose and 97% the complete vaccination schedule. The same values ​​are found in the elderly aged 80 years and over.

Regarding the youngest, 19% of young people (aged 0 to 17 years) have already taken a dose. Between 18 and 24 years, 73% (571,163) started vaccination and 39% (306,454) completed the course.

As for the Portuguese between 25 and 49 years old and between 50 and 64, there are 87% and 97%, respectively, of people with the first dose, while the complete vaccination of these age groups translates into 74% and 91%.

Portugal received 16.67 million doses of vaccines and distributed 14.96 million throughout the territory.

Health officials reported an additional 1,822 COVID-19 cases today, including six fatalities.
