“Lyme disease is growing and growing and growing”, New York Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer said in a press conference at Central Park on Sunday.

Schumer, who was part of passing a Lyme disease law in 2016, is calling on Washington to implement it.
“We need that implementation done now, Schumer said. I am calling on the Secretary of Health and Human Services to implement the law immediately.
“As the scourge of Lyme disease gets greater and greater and greater here in the New York area and throughout America.”
21st Century Cures Act passed through the Senate and was signed by President Obama last December.
The Act covered funding for several areas to include modifying the FDA approval process, the opioid epidemic and prioritizing the research, vaccine development and treatment strategies to help stamp out tick-borne diseases, including Lyme disease.

Whatever evil schumer clown is in, it is about lining his pockets and making his deals. There are good reasons perhaps for the hesitation on another “obama” law.
Here is the reality. Chuck Schumer has been in Washington politics since before 1991 (yes you read that right) with his district being one of highest incident of tick borne illness. I do believe he was at the hearing which Ted Kennedy chaired about lyme disease whereas they stated they to the families afflicted that they were going to do something about this. REALLY lets see that was what 30 plus years ago. Here is the further reality. He has done NOTHING thus far to highlight all the inaccurate information, insensitive testing, throwing out the IDSA guidelines for treatment and completely obliterating the criteria established in Dearborne. Now all the sudden he actually cares. Won’t be any comfort to the thousands suffering all over the country including the south whereas, CDC has continued to proliferate the lie that this is a isolated problem. Not impressed.
He is calling attention to it, though we don’t know why, or what lobbyists are pushing him (the vaccine people?), but calling attention to Lyme disease and asking for something to be done about it is better than not doing anything or not saying anything. Liberals are the only ones pushing awareness for the Lyme disease epidemic. Liberal publications, liberal Senators, etc. I’m a conservative, and I couldn’t be happier about the dissemination of awareness. I don’t care where it comes from, I just care that it comes out.

Amen !!!!
I don’t care who gets the credit. Everyone needs to get out of their sandbox and realize they were elected to represent us and do something!!! NOT FIGHT!. I need help with LYME. I need insurance to help PAY! I need DISABILITY to rescind their decision. I need HOPE that someone cares and is working on a CURE! I need a big SOCIAL action like HIV/AIDS had – where we get our medication to live – down to $2 a day to survive! I need someone to tell me WHY they are choosing to treat me like this is all in my head?
I am not the next Political Playday…draw the line …stop fighting…start working. America…demand your Congressman & woman to quit pointing fingers..We need results …not more of the same senseless fighting.
We along are in desperate need of insurance coverage of the Specialists and all costs associated with treatment. There are no in network specialists for me. I have to pay up front and then get maybe 60% reimbursement. I haven’t been able to afford to see my Specialist since January, therefore my treatment had to be discontinued. I NEED to get to the dr and back on treatment. We also need more Lyme literate Drs. It should be mandatory that all family physicians, pediatricians, ER, and Hospitality be trained by ILADS standards.
