On the Sunday, Aug 14 airing of the Outbreak News This Week Radio Show, a Tampa-based talk program about infectious diseases and health, the main topics were the work being done to find an effective treatment for the “brain-eating amoeba”, Naegleria fowleri and the ins-and-outs of the autoimmune disease, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
During the first half, I was joined by Distinguished Professor at the University of South Florida’s (USF) College of Public Health, Dennis Kyle, PhD to talk about his labs work on trying to find an effective treatment for the “brain-eating amoeba”.
In the second half, the Founder and President of the Engelman Health Institute and permanent Clinical Consultant for Cyrex Laboratories, Mark Engelman, MD joined me to go over the nuts and bolts of Hashimoto’s disease.
