Vietnam health authorities reported since the beginning of the pandemic, 813,961 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded, including 809,375 cases reported since late April (the fourth wave).
Localities with the highest cumulative infections during this pandemic include Ho Chi Minh City (400,003), Binh Duong (216,853), Dong Nai (51,364), Long An (32,857) and Tien Giang (14,172).
19,845 total deaths have been reported.
During the past month, 277,173 cases and 6,460 deaths have been reported, the 11th most in the world, as of today.
Health officials also report that to date, 49% of people over 18 years old in Vietnam have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while over 15 percent have received two doses.
The Ministry of Health also said that there are 6 provinces and cities that have coverage of at least 1 dose of vaccine for over 90% of the population aged 18 and over: Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Binh Duong.
There are 2 provinces and cities that have coverage of at least 1 dose of vaccine for 80-90% of the population aged 18 years and over, namely Da Nang and Dong Nai.
Lang Son is a locality with coverage of at least one vaccine dose for 70-80% of the population aged 18 years and over.
Ha Nam, Bac Ninh, Yen Bai and Phu Yen are the 4 localities with the coverage rate of at least 1 dose of vaccine for 50-70% of the population aged 18 and over: Ha Nam, Bac Ninh, Yen Bai and Phu Yen .
12/63 provinces and cities with coverage of at least 1 dose of vaccine for 30-50% of the population aged 18 and over are Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Ha Tinh, Dien Bien, Ninh Thuan, Tien Giang, Tay Ninh, Can Tho, Dong Thap.
The remaining 38/63 provinces and cities have coverage of at least 1 dose of vaccine for 10-30% of the population aged 18 years and over.
