The Vietnamese Ministry of Health reported 8,681 COVID-19 cases Monday, including 5,171 cases in Ho Chi Minh City.

The average number of new infections in the country recorded in the past 7 days is 10,160 cases/day.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 695,744 cumulative infections, including 691,285 cases reported since April 27, the beginning of the fourth wave.

Vietnam recorded an additional 215 deaths today, bringing the total deaths to 17,305. Health officials reported an average of 234 deaths daily in the past week.

The total number of doses of vaccine injected is 34,553,590 doses, according to officials, of which the 1st dose is 27,913,529 doses, the 2nd dose is 6,640,061 doses.
