Face masks and shields, a form of mitigation against COVID-19, will continue in the country until some 50 million people are vaccinated, National Task Force Against COVID-19 advisor, Dr Ted Herbosa said.

“We can remove face masks and face shields if we [have] already vaccinated between 49 to 50 million. We should bear wearing face masks, face shields, washing our hands, and avoid crowded areas,” Herbosa said recently.

Herbosa said only 29 percent of senior citizens, the most vulnerable population against COVID-19, already got vaccinated, citing a lot of vaccine hesitancy.
