According to data from the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development- Dengue and Malaria Program:
DENGUE UPDATES by PROVINCE and HIGHLY URBANIZED CITY (HUC) in Western Visayas as per DOH WV CHD – Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) Morbidity Week (MW) #27 Updates (Jan. 1 – July 9, 2022) released July 14, 2022.
• Based on 2022 MW #27 (July 3-9, 2022), there are 506 newly-reported Dengue cases in Western Visayas bringing the total cases to 5,837.
• TOP 3 PROVINCES/HUCs with Highest Number of Newly-Reported Dengue Cases:
1) Negros Occidental – 157 cases (2,096 total cases vs 227 cases in 2021; 823% )
2) Antique – 150 cases (1,591 total cases vs 203 cases in 2021; 684% )
3) Iloilo Province – 93 cases (986 total cases vs 214 cases in 2021; 361% )
• THREE newly-reported Dengue-related fatalities (two from Antique and one from Iloilo Province) were added to the regional Dengue death count which now stands at 34 as of July 9, 2022. Capiz and Guimaras have zero dengue-related deaths.
