Federal health officials are reporting a gastrointestinal illness outbreak onboard a recent voyage of Princess Cruises’ Emerald Princess.

115 passengers and crew on the March 17–April 1, 2023 voyage suffered symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea. The exact etiology of the illnesses is unknown to date.

In response to the outbreak, Princess Cruises and the crew aboard the ship reported the following actions:

  • Increased cleaning and disinfection procedures according to the ship’s outbreak prevention and response plan.
