The deputy director of the Nghe An Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported today three people in Ky Son district were found positive for diphtheria bacteria in Huu Lap commune.

Currently, the 3 patients are being treated at the Department of Tropical Diseases, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, and are in good health.

CDC Nghe An has established a working group to coordinate with Ky Son district authorities   to urgently deploy diphtheria prevention and control.

Officials carried out epidemiological investigations, screened children at 2 schools in Cha Lan and Xop Thang villages (Huu Lap commune), isolated, took 24 samples of healthy people carrying the infection and sent it to them. to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to test for diphtheria bacteria.
