Since the beginning of the year, the city has reported 6,733 cases of dengue, up by 249 percent compared to the same period last year with 1,931 cases.  One death from dengue fever has been reported in HCMC.

Concerning measles, the city saw two measles cases in the first six weeks of 2018. During the same period this year,  926 hospitalized cases have been recorded.

The increases in these two serious diseases has prompted the Preventive Medicine Centre to advise the public to vaccinate children against measles, while applying measures to prevent dengue fever.
