Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

I absolutely love Blue Bunny ice cream, especially cherryific cheesecake! I buy it almost every week, and have never had a problem before. But this time, November 21, 2020, I was eating it, and thought the little brownish crunchy things were nuts or something, until my spoon hit something hard. I dug around it, and it was close to 3 inches wide, and at least 4 inches long, when I got it out of the ice cream. It softened after being out for just a few minutes, and sort of shrunk a little, so I immediately put it in a container in the freezer so I had proof of it. I don’t know how much of the brown thing that I ate in the ice cream last night, or what it was, but when I got to that hard brown thing, I stopped eating the ice cream, & really started feeling sick, wondering what it was that I had eaten and if I might get really sick.
This was regular Blue Bunnie Cherrific Cheesecake ice cream. The lot #00021 mm 19115 04:33 0288, best if used by 04/14/22.
I hope something will be done for what I went through. I’m almost afraid to get it again.
