The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) reported 400,624 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 117 imported cases, bringing the total number of new confirmed cases to 400,741, and the total number of confirmed cases is 7,629,275 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Currently, South Korea has recorded the most cases globally of any country in the past 28 days (6,076,424).

The Seoul metropolitan area reported half the cases today with 204,654.

South Korea has averaged 345,000 cases daily for the past week.

The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters announced that as March 16, there were 1,244 critically ill patients and 164 fatalities, with a cumulative death toll of 11,052 (fatal rate of 0.14%).

Concerning vaccination, today officials report  2,454 new primary immunizations, 3,302 secondary immunizations, 31,919 tertiary immunizations, and the cumulative number of primary immunizations was 44,914,731. The number of second doses was 44,443,726, and the number of third doses was 32,185,393.
