The Government of Salta confirmed 105 new cases of dengue in the last epidemiological week.

The General Director of Epidemiological Coordination, Analía Acevedo reported that the highest number of infections occurred in Professor Salvador Mazza (72). In addition, cases were reported in Tartagal (15), Aguaray (10), General Mosconi (5), Oran (1), Padre Lozano (1) and Rivadavia Banda Sur (1).

To date, there are now 407 infected in the province, confirmed by laboratory and clinical epidemiological criteria.

The cumulative totals are as follows:

  • Profesor Salvador Mazza: 319
  • Tartagal: 33
  • Aguaray: 28
  • Santa Victoria Este: 13
  • General Mosconi: 7
  • San Ramón de la Nueva Orán: 4
  • Salta: 1
  • Padre Lozano: 1
  • Rivadavia Banda Sur: 1

The serotype detected in positive patients is DENV-2, different from the one that circulated in the province during the surveillance period 2020-2021 (DENV-1).

The age of the people is heterogeneous and all presented a favorable clinical outcome, with mild or moderate clinical symptoms.

Common symptoms include:

High fever (39ºC to 40ºC)
Headache
Body and joint pain
Tiredness
Pain behind the eyes and skin rashes
Soft spot
During the febrile phase, it is difficult to differentiate dengue from other diseases. Therefore, it is important to consult the health system in case of suspicion.
