The Taiwan CDC reported today that 127 new locally acquired dengue fever cases were recorded during the week of July 11th to July 17th, 2023.

The CDC stated that the local epidemic is heating up. Rende District, East District, and Yongkang District of Tainan City are the main clusters of epidemics. In addition, there are clusters of epidemics in the North District Park and the surrounding Libe and Guiren Districts, which also pose a risk of community transmission. Most of the new cases are related to the epidemic clusters.
As of July 17, 2023, there have been a total of 425 local cases in Taiwan, including 362 cases in Tainan City, 42 cases in Yunlin County, 18 cases in Kaohsiung City, 2 cases in Taichung City and 1 case in Pingtung County.

At present, 6 severe cases have been reported, 2 of which are hospitalized.
