I continued the discussion on Lyme disease on the Feb. 7 airing of the Outbreak News This Week Radio show with an interview with Associate Professor of Microbiology at SUNY Adirondack, Holly Ahern.

We discussed the tick vectors, why Borrelia burgdorferi is so complex, problems with Lyme diagnosis and chronic Lyme.
With 14 imported Zika virus cases reported in Florida and a public health emergency declared, Zika is among the hottest topics in the Sunshine State. During the second half of the show, Zika in Florida was the theme as I was joined by Infectious Disease expert from Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, Dr. Cynthia Rivera.
How concerned should Floridians be about Zika, the travel risk to Zika-affected countries and the sexual transmission of the virus were all looked at during the interview.

Sadly I could not get the site to work to hear what was said, would love to read the written version. However what I did notice is that this radio station is or seems not to be afraid of getting the truth or facts of what’s going on with Lyme+ and how it’s really hurting America. Noticed there was a title that said Lyme Warrior Princess Sammie, Grievances with the CDC, IDSA….as well…good to see, would also like to see the written version of how that went…..Not sure who’s paying attention…but we have a major Epidemic that’s now into a Pandemic…when will CDC, IDSA, NIH, FDA…Doctors who refuse to follow their OATH… when…or how many more need to suffer and die????? Why should we even care about Zika? We’ve ignored Lyme+Co-Infections for DECADES!
